They marched up Fifth Avenue on Columbus Day without the Mayor. What did you think? Personally, I thought he did the right thing. He invited guests who are actors in the Sopranos Television show, who are only actors…not, in true life, members of the Mafia. And, because they were to be his guests he would not desert them. As it should be. Why are the Italian Americans so sensitive about the Mafia? There was plenty of Irish Mafia, too. Most Americans know all Italians are not Mafia, nor do they believe most Italians lead a life of crime. There are good and bad in all ethnic groups. Lighten up, folks! This is where we all need a good sense of humor. However, I do believe that Mayor Bloomberg could have used better judgment. We do not need to glorify those who lead a life of crime, even though these people are only role-playing. Next year, hopefully, he will choose marching mates who have excelled in Sports, Military, Writing and/or the Arts, except for the "Soprano Stars". The actors he choose this year have excelled in their craft, but it was not seen that way by most. Too bad, in this time of crisis, we would be lucky if this were the only a problem we have to worry about. We all must learn to laugh at ourselves. And, that’s what makes life fun. I must admit, I did find it humorous and got a chuckle out of it. Didn’t you?

Belated condolences to Alice Rexer’s family. Alice, long time resident of Breezy Point and Brooklyn, was a Registered Nurse and the mother of six children and grandmother too. She passed away a week ago after a long illness. My deepest sympathy to the family she leaves behind. Former Chairman of the Board of the Breezy Point Cooperative, Harold Madden was also taken from us recently. Hal Madden worked diligently for the water rights all Breezy Pointers now enjoy. He leaves behind, his wife and eleven children, Condolences to the family. I, personally, remember Hal Madden’s kindness and graciousness when I held my Golden Girl Pageant at the Halloran House (now Marriott East) a number of years ago, when Mary Laffan of Belle Harbor won Ms. Congeniality. Without the cooperation of Hal Madden that Pageant would not have been the success it was. And, I will always remember him for his kindness.

Gladys Crowley and I were guests of Patty Crowley at Kennedy’s on the Bay where you don’t have to stick to breakfast eggs and pancakes. They now serve bow ties with lots of large shrimp that Patty and Gladys and Tom Connors ordered the week before and loved it. I tried their delicious baked salmon with asparagus. Their brunch menu runs into lunch, which is nice if you had breakfast early. They serve up until 3 o’clock. Thank you, Patty.

Peter Danzilo is doing nicely after a fall in his home that cracked his skull and broke his hip. He is now in Rehabilitation at Mount Sinai Hospital to adjust to the new hip that was replaced. We do not know when Peter will be home so drop him a line or give him a call to cheer him up.

Convention and Visitors Bureau of Palm Beach County and Hoteliers hosted travel agents to a fabulous filet mignon sit down dinner at the 21 Club a few days ago. The 21 Club, as always, has superb service and the best drinks in Manhattan (Michael is one of their outstanding bartenders). We met with the Hoteliers and I was most impressed with the beautiful Hilton Singer Island Oceanfront Resort that is running a FREE night special you will find in the Travel section below. I wish to thank Director of Marketing and Sales, Steven Rockwell for special help.

Extracts show was at the Javits Center and I had a ball sniffing the finest fragrances and scented candles and essentials oils. Naturopatch is a new product, a patch that sticks to your body to relieve stress, aches and pains; and s remedy for energy and focus plus another patch to relieve cold symptoms. Did you ever wonder what to give fpr a baby shower? I discovered Wickle Baby, which is an abundance of goodies with love wrapped in veiling in pink or in blue or green. They come with one decorated rose (a pink towel) with delicate baby breath (tiny white beads). They have decorated faux cakes in all sizes made of all baby essentials: diapers, baby bottle, receiving blanket, washcloths, rattle etc. They are so beautiful to look at and present and so unique for a gift. You will see them on my daily segments at 12:30pm on UHF Ch. 35. You will also see eyeglass for applying makeup I did take time out to try the Spinal Exerciser that is great for back pain, relieving stress, lowers heart rate and blood pressure, slims you down by increasing your metabolism and much, much more. With the music tape and headphones I felt I was on a cloud floating over the universe. YOU’VE GOT TO HAVE ONE! They are from Cal; Coast Products, Inc. www.bodycareonline.com.
