Far Rockaway Prevails, While Beach Channel Fails

In the second half at Kennedy, the Knights showed signs of championship form against the Dolphins to win the ballgame.

The Knights scored on touchdowns by Edward Johnson (2 yards), Jason Reid (42 yards and 2-point conversion) and Stephen Green (87 yards) to shut the door on Beach Channel (2-2).

The turning point of the game came late in the fourth quarter. With Kennedy leading 14-11 when Kennedy's Christ Thompson blocked Allan Trujillo's 34-yard field goal attempt to tie the game.

Lamar Hilliard's 2 yard TD run with Paul Washington's 2 point conversion and Allan Trujillo's 20 yard field goal led the Dolphins to a 11-0 halftime score.

Boys and Girls 6

Seahorses' QB Chris Howard, who went 5 for 10 with 80 yards passing, connected with James Romain on a 24-yard TD in the second quarter to tie the game. Michael Toney, who rushed for 120 yards on 16 carries, broke the tie at 6-6 with a 6-yard run. Boys and Girls' Ramon Thompson caught a 33-yard touchdown pass from Kermit Atkinson to the put the Red Swarm in front at 6-0. Far Rockaway is 3-1.

Upcoming Games

This Sunday, at Beach Channel, the Dolphins will face off against Queens-elite Bayside at 11 a.m. The Seahorses will travel to Bryant for a Oct. 13 at 12 p.m. kickoff. Far Rockaway will have their homecoming game next Saturday October 19 for the "Battle of the Beach" against Beach Channel. Come out and show our kids love and support.
