The End Never Justifies Means

The End Never Justifies Means

Dear Editor;

It is most unfortunate that the Broad Channel community has been split by controversy. The children of Broad Channel are the ones who will eventually suffer from this division, for they will grow up in a divided community. There is a Christian moral principle, which states that the end never justifies the means. In time, we will see that the price paid: a split community, was not worth the end of obtaining a piece of a parking lot!

I want to congratulate the writer of the letter concerning this controversy in The Wave of 9/21. I would urge him/her not to be discouraged. Wounds, provided they are not fatal, do heal; he/she can do much to see that the scar isn't too ugly.

REV. MSGR. KIERAN MARTIN
