By Elio Velez
The Far Rockaway Ravens are a young new football team playing at Bayswater Park that has had quick success on the field.
Last weekend, the Rockaway Raven 11-12 year old peewee team sure found the end zone in a 28-14 victory over Ridgewood. Trell Tripp was the star for the Ravens as he scored three touchdowns. Tripp had help from teammates Dequan Dickerson and Rashawn Morris, who scored a touchdown and a 2-point conversion.
The Rockaway Raven Junior 9-10 year old peewee team also pulled out a victory with an 18-14 win. Corney Lawrence scored on a 65 yard run for a touchdown. Ollie Robinson scored on a 58-yard run to the outside and Shamel Padgett scored a tough 45-yard run through the middle and broke tackles to find his way to the end zone.
The junior peewee Ravens will be back at Bayswater Park on Sunday, October 6 at 10 a.m. to take on the Brooklyn Skyhawks. For more information on schedules, log onto http://www.warnerfootball.com/
