Dot on Roxbury

By Dotty Taphouse

The Block Party of Saint Genevieve's Church in Roxbury was held in front of Father Hession Hall on September 21. Despite the clouds and winds it was a very nice affair. There were french fries, hamburgers, corn, hot dogs, soda and beer. They also had live music playing for dancing & singing.

The Fall Festival in Riis Park was on Saturday and Sunday this past weekend. There were lots of vendors who made wonderful things such as, stained glass; paintings/photos from local artists; marionettes; etc. There was also a vendor who is friends with my daughters from the old neighborhood, Astoria. Bill & Joan Cerone were running the table for Mountainwood Gourmet. They had lots of free samples of mustards, jellies, salsa & chips, and sauces.  If you lost their card and would like to place an order please call them at 800-224-4372 ext 41. They also had lots of things for the kids to do. The picture attached is of my great granddaughter, Jessica, riding on of the ponies.
