Over the past weekend, many of the daily papers published specials dedicated to those who were killed in the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center last year. More ... More ... There are those within the Rockaway community (at the east and west ends) who think that I have a bitter disposition because of the positions I take on certain issues. More ... A film of the same name was previewed at The Beach Club last Monday night. The film was about the women of Rockaway and their loss from the tragedy of September 11. The film was sensitively made with interviews of several women who described their feelings so poignantly that it made you sad and proud at the same time. More ... Efforts to save the vacant hotel at 2400 Seagirt Boulevard in Far Rockaway were unsuccessful last week as the wooden structure burned to the ground. Called the "Phoenix House," because it was last used by that anti-drug group, the hotel had been one of the grand hotels that once lined the Rockaway shore. More ...
