Meeks, Titus Sweep Primaries

Incumbent Congressman Gregory Meeks and Assemblywoman Michelle Titus ran away from their challengers in the primary election held last Tuesday.

In the congressional race, Meeks polled 21,750 votes (79 percent) to Rey Clarke’s 5,867 (21 percent).

In the hotly-contested 31st Assembly District race, incumbent Titus polled 2,466 votes (43 percent); Taj Rajkumar, 1,082 votes (19 percent); Charles Pringle, 655 votes (11 percent); Henrietta Fullard, 564 votes (10 percent); Brian Block, 560 votes (10 percent) and Mike DuValle, 434 votes (8 percent).

The general election will be held on Tuesday, November 5.
