It is one day before the anniversary of the collapse of the WTC Towers and the media is filled with every detail of the event imaginable. We listen to the feelings of the loved ones of those lost and reflect and ponder the enormity of it all hoping the coming day will soon be over for we dread the regurgitation of it all.

If I, who lost no one in this tragedy, can experience the heartache and depression of this horror how do the families of lost loved ones cope? It must tear them apart. Let’s have our memorials, as we must do, but enough is enough. Let’s get it over with, and as difficult as it is, get on with our lives. Of course, we will never forget. How could we? No one forgets trauma in their lives and neither will we as a nation. But, we must put it to rest. Constant dwelling on these horrific events eventually effects mental health. Be busy, be productive in your lives to preserve your sanity. The dismal daily news of potential war does not lighten our hearts. My deepest sorrow and condolences to those who are suffering the greatest loss in this unprecedented attack on our nation.

May we work toward better days in peace and love.

Congratulations to Christine Cunningham who deserves special happiness because she and her husband, Gerard are adopting a brand new baby to be born on Oct. 13 in Oklahoma. The baby, whose sex is unknown to this day, will fortunately grow up with her parents in Belle Harbor. Mother Florence Ramondi, Dad, Louis (not present), her Aunt Katie and Aunt Jenny who flew in from Florida, Theresa Ianelli and Great Grandmother, Mary Parisi and more all showered Christine with gifts and good wishes at Kennedy’s luncheon in the. Atrium.

In the other room, another mountain of presents for Ann Marie Cahill from Howard Beach who will marry Joe Kerins Oct. 5 at the MillerRidge Inn. Elaine Cavuto, Maid of Honor, Mother Jean Cahill and Mother-in-law, Margaret Kerins were among the well wishers.

Anita Wilkenson and hubby, Jack just returned from a glorious time in San Diego where they helped celebrate the 2nd birthday of their great grandchild, Aidan Gaugherty. While packing up for the end of the season at the Surf Club, Marjorie and Tim McCormack from West Court paid them a farewell season visit.

Patty and Bobby Crowley celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary on Thursday, Sept. 12 (And they said it wouldn’t last!) Congratulations and continued connubial bliss for many, many more years.

A new baby line, Holly Baby surprised me with the most adorable dress for my new granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Matuozzi, born Aug. 4, 2002 . They included bunny slippers and a body suit. The company is located in Santa Fe Springs, Ca. and has an 800 number. Give them a call and order a catalogue. I guarantee you will want to order everything in it. The baby and young toddler clothes are so special. You will love them.

In Vanderbuilt Hall, Grand Central Station, at a beautiful cocktail reception, Tiffany introduced their brand new Tiffany Mark Swiss made pedigree timepiece. The ultimate watch of all time. It is made with 18K Gold. They feature sapphire crystals with scratch-resistant qualities. It has a regulating device that eliminates time keeping errors and is waterproof. All in handsome designs.

Calvin Klein opened it’s doors to benefit the American Ballet Theatre with a cocktail reception and silent auction at their store on Madison Ave. All the "Swells", along with Patrick McMullen (well known Society Photographer) were there to contribute and buy. With each purchase 30% made during the hours of the event and 100% of the silent auction went to the American Ballet Theatre.

Alfredo of Rome gathered Meeting Planners last night for a taste of their catering and to show off their Roman venue with Roman Busts in evidence. Of course, of course they served their most favorite dish, Fettuccini Alfredo, so well known and enjoyed in their Rome establishment. Owner Russel Bellanca was there to meet everyone and I had a nice chat with him. TRAVEL:
