Walter G. Geisler

World War II Veteran

Walter G. Geisler, a 50-year resident of Rockaway Park, coming from Maspeth, passed away on September 3, 2002.

Walter worshipped at St. Camillus Church and was a World War II veteran who served in the United States Navy.

He is survived by his wife, Yolanda (nee Laudernet) Geisler; son, Walter Geisler, Jr, and Marianne; daughter, Michelle Philippou and Pete; sister, Muriel Geisler; and grandchildren, Renee Marie and Matthew Geisler, and Christopher and Nicholas Philippou.

Interment under the direction Denis S. O’Connor, Inc was held at Calverton National Cemetery.

Timothy Karl Gordon
Construction Worker

Timothy Karl Gordon, born at Hahn Air Force Base in Germany, was a 20-year resident of Rockaway who died on August 2, 2002 at the age of 36.

Timothy worked in the construction industry and served in the United States Navy.

He is preceded in death by his brother, John.

He is survived by his mother, Kathryn; brother, George; and sister, Jennifer.

Interment under the direction of the Simonson Funeral Home was held at Silver Mount Cemetery in Staten Island.

Patricia A. Kelly
Belle Harbor Resident

Patricia A. Kelly, a life long resident of Belle Harbor, passed away on August 17, 2002 at the age of 72.

She is survived by her children, Mary Ellen Piccoli, Carol Ann Duffy, Kathleen Thompson, James William Kelly, Kevin Patrick Kelly and Patricia Carchietta; close relatives, Frank Piccoli, Robert Thompson, Mike Duffy, James Carchietta, Susan Kelly and Kimberly D. Rose; grandchildren, Lisa and Daniel Piccoli, Jennifer, Katie, Melissa, and Kimberly Thompson, Diana and Michael Duffy, Suzanne, Christine, Douglas and James Kelly, Anthony, James and Nicholas Carchietta; great-grandchildren, Lauren Rose and Devon Kelly, and Lindzie Sardinas; and sister, Peggy Droesch.

Interment under the direction of Moloneys' Hauppauge Funeral Home, Inc. was held at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, New York.

Betsy Ethel Montgomery
Secretary

Betsy Ethel Montgomery, born in Oceanside, New York, was a life long member of the Rockaway community who passed away on September 2, 2002 at the age of 70.

Betsy worked as a secretary for many years, and upon her retirement, she served for several years as secretary of the First Presbyterian Church Russell Sage Memorial in Far Rockaway.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Hamilton and Ruth Montgomery.

She is survived by her brothers, Robert and William; sister, Jo-Ann; 8 nieces and nephews; and 12 grand nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements were handled under the direction of the Meserole Funeral Home, Inc.

Evelyn Todd
101 Precinct Crossing Guard

Evelyn Todd, a 70-year resident of Rockaway, coming from the Bronx, died on August 27, 2002 at the age of 73.

Evelyn was retired after working as a 101 Precinct School Crossing Guard and an Auxiliary Police Headquarter Deputy Inspector.

She is survived by her family members, Cory, Estelle, Carey, Debra and Lenny.

Interment under the direction of the Schuyler Hill Funeral Home was held at Calverton National Cemetery in Long Island.
