Drive Them To Nassau

Drive Them To Nassau

The community is building new homes and trying to make this a beautiful beach resort community like they have in other states. Rockaway has beautiful ocean front property and making it harder for locals and visitors alike to enjoy. It will just drive them to Nassau beaches where you pay to get on the beach but are not harassed. It is quite obvious that these police officers and their commanders are not from the area and have never been fortunate enough to enjoy Rockaway's sun and surf. If they were, they would realize how stupid these tickets are. I remember years ago when there were Fireworks every Wednesday night. Thousands of people flocked to the beach to watch them. Just imagine how many tickets would have been issued because according to the police the beach was CLOSED.

Just recently, I witnessed two officers riding on the sand in their beach buggy with the attitude that they were  "Mightier than Thou". It is very sad when a little people are given a little authority and get very carried away.

Swimming without lifeguards is foolish... (like the Boulevard of Death...crossing in the middle of Queens Boulevard is foolish  must people are smart  enough not to do it but realize there is a large risk that they are taking and must be responsible for their own actions.
