Dot on Roxbury

By Dotty Taphouse

The Mardi Gras celebration was held on Saturday and Sunday in Roxbury.  The Gladiola Band was the lead in the children's parade. The weather held up for the parade and the children marched on. There were prizes for Best costume, floats, etc. Lots of great ideas.

Following the Parade, the children were all treated to ice cream and candy bags. The Adult parade was on
Sunday. There was a light rain falling but that didn’t stop the Roxbury people from marching. Lots of great bands and costumes. Lots of fun for everyone. After the judging most of the people followed the Gladiola Band around from the Ball field, to the Mayor's, Bozo's, Catholic Club and so on, and so on!

Monday’s rain was very heavy, so the running race, egg throwing contest, etc. had to be cancelled.  All in all everyone seemed to have a good time.

Love ya, Dot
