The New York State Paddle Tennis Association will be holding the 1st Annual William "Buddy" Henry Memorial Doubles Paddle Tennis Tournament at Jacob Riis Park on August 24 and 25 at 10 a.m.

The event is broken down into these Divisions: Open, A, Novice, Junior (14-16), Senior (60+) The format: is Double Elimination and awards and/or prizes will given for 1st and 2nd place in all divisions. The admission is free.

The event honors Fireman William Henry, who was working with Rescue 1 in Manhattan when he died courageously performing his duties at the World Trade Center on September 11.

The New York Tennis Association is not for profit organization that promotes paddle as a sport to improve physical fitness and awards college scholarships for needy students.
