The regular season concluded on Monday night, and with the playoffs beginning the following night, the Beach Club has established itself as the favorite after 4 more victories to finish 7-1. Marianne Welsh scored 16 as they finished with a 49-35 win over Sony. Katie Pastina led Sony with 10. It was Welsh leading the way again the previous Monday in another win against Sony. Jean Clyde scored 10 in defeat.

The Honey B's finished on a positive note, knocking off Mobil 46-38 to take third place. Jen Lawler poured in 21 to lead the way. Jeanine Jackson had 16 for Mobil. The Honey B's looked as if they had turned a corner heading into last week and indeed they played very well, but great individual efforts on successive nights denied them victory.

Last Monday it was Christy Morrone with the performance of the season, scoring 21 of her 30 points in the 4th quarter to lead Mobil to a 58-52 come from behind win. Jen Lawler had 17 for the Honey B's. The following night it was Caitlin Boyle's turn. Boyle scored 11 of her 21 in the final period after the Honey B's recovered from Marianne Welsh's 1st quarter onslaught (14 of her game high 23) to take the lead. Lawler had 13 as the Honey B's succumbed 55-49. The tough losses seemed to carry over to Thursday's game as they looked flat in a 40-36 loss to Sony despite Lawler's 18. Jennifer Kelleher spun her way inside to 19 points and Corrine Howley added 10. The Honey B's can take encouragement from Monday's win.

Mobil finished 4-4 but is possibly the most dangerous team in the field. Christy Morrone scored 23 and Molly Tubridy 13 in a 57-51 win over Sony. Jen Kelleher had 16 for Sony. In the marquee matchup they dropped a 58-50 decision to the Beach Club. Marianne Welsh had 19 and Caitlin Boyle 14 for the Beach Club. Jeanine Jackson scored 14 for Mobil.

Although Sony finished 2-6, they can take solace in knowing they were the only team to beat the Beach Club, their semi-final opponent. With the return of Annamarie Ciorciari, the youngsters can surprise if they maintain their discipline and drop a few bombs.

Final Standings

Beach Club            7-1

Mobil                     4-4

Honey B's              3-5

Sony                     2-6
