RMAC Writer's Group
Reading On Aug. 21

The Rockaway Music & Arts Council will hold their Third Annual Sheila Callahan Reading on Wednesday, August 21 at 7 p.m. at Ciro's Pastry Shop, 415 Beach 129 Street.

The RMAC Writer's Group was begun several years ago by Sheila Callahan, a talented and published author both in the United States and abroad. Shortly after the group began, Mrs. Callahan passed away, and each year the Writer's Group Reading has been in her memory.

Several members of the group will present material they have published or are presently working on. Scheduled to appear are Steve Yeager who recently had his book "Ian and The Woodens" published, Shirley Golub and Estelle Feldman. The latter presently leads the group.

The material offered to the public will include remembrances of Rockaway, a play in progress, young adult historical fiction and several other forms of writing.

The public is invited to Ciro's to listen and ask questions at the end of the readings, and to enjoy some pastry courtesy of RMAC. As in the past, since there is limited space, everyone is asked to bring his or her own chair.
