Send A Message To
Troops Fighting Terrorism
It is a sad fact of life that many of the men and women fighting the war on terrorism around the world do not get letters from home. Local resident Jack Hutton's son, Captain Thomas Hutton, who leads D Company of the 263 Medevac, attached to the 82nd Airborne, is fighting in Uzbekistan. Hutton believes that it is time for Americans to show their support for the men actually fighting the war.
Hutton's wife and other wives whose husbands are off at war have come up with a way of addressing the problem. "A Message to Our Troops" postcards are now available at the offices of The Wave on Beach 88 Street. Residents may fill out those cards, add a personal message on the back of the card and return them to the Wave. The sponsors of the program at the 82nd Airborne home base will distribute them to those who do not normally get mail from home.
