When I read the article I was very pleased that law enforcement is doing something to save lives, Unfortunately that's only happening in the jurisdiction of the 100 Precinct. More ... I am 16 years old and have been living and surfing in Rockaway my whole life. I am also a NYC lifeguard. About a week ago I was surfing at around 7:30PM when a moron PEP officer on an ATV drives up with a bull horn and tells me to get out of the water because the cops are on there way. More ... Again the NYC Dept. Of Parks has gone out of their way to restrict residents of this community. This past weekend an employee of the Parks Department Police Force confiscated some bats from young boys harmlessly playing ball on the beach adjacent to Beach 128 Street. More ... I would like to know if we can put our heads together as a community by having some sort of open forum or a chat room on the web that all residents of the Rockaway community can freely express our thoughts to make the " Rock" a better place to live. As a dog owner in Rockaway we all know the word "pick up". I know how strict the enforcement is for not picking up after our dogs. I can understand that dog feces all over would be unpleasant and dirty. More ... Who owns the ocean? Does it belong to the city of NY? The surfers have been a part of Rockaway Beach forever. They certainly enhance our beach by the grace and symmetry of their sport. More ... |
