Free Tennis Now At BCHS

City Councilman Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. announced a summer program of free tennis for children to be held in Beach Channel High School, 100-00 Beach Channel Drive in Rockaway. The program is sponsored by Councilman Addabbo, the New York City Council and the New York Junior Tennis League (NYJTL).

The free tennis program, operating Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., will run through the summer until August 23. It is open to youths ages 6-18.

All playing levels are welcome. Loaner tennis racquets will be provided. Tennis activities include group instruction, practice and USA Team Tennis Matchplay.

Registration and instruction will be conducted in the schoolyard of Beach Channel High School and takes place every day throughout the season.

The New York Junior Tennis League, a not-for-profit agency, offers free tennis instruction for City youth ages 6-18 in Board of Education schoolyards.
