Dot on Roxbury

By Dotty Taphouse

The Roxbury Community Church held their Annual Luncheon on Friday August 2nd. There was a Chinese Auction and coffee with lots of lovely gifts and winners. The food, which had a Chinese theme, was cooked by the ladies and was delicious. The luncheon was a great success. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the guest speaker Donna Currigan.

Congratulations to Michael Kahlau on his graduation from the Fire Department Academy.

Roz Borelli, son and daughter-in-law Bob & Rose, Jeann Weiner, Donna McCawley, Debbie Boyle & Marie Leto have just returned home from a cruise to Bermuda. A great time was had by all.

The George Levandoski Memorial Roxbury Run was held on Saturday July 20th. Great weather and a big crowd led to a good time for all. Special thanks to all the following for helping make the party such a success: DJ Mike "Notorious" Wheeler, set up crew Larry Fitz, Joe Mangen, Uncle Bill Reid, Tom McEnroe, Charlie Weinsheimer, Mike Dunn, Cliff Ris, Hot Dog Chefs, Tim McKinley, Roe Robers Eric Barteld, Ray Munchmeir, Joan & Ziggy Schulze, Karen Bogart, Con-Ed and Mary Curry for allowing us to use their electric and last but not least, Johnny Sweeny for his collection and volleyball dance class duties. As always, all proceeds donated to the Roxbury LL and Girls Softball.

Happy belated birthday to Helen Hagen, July 30. Happy Birthday to Beth Ann Kahlau 8/5.

Love ya! Dot
