PA Man Busted For Gun, Drugs
By Howard Schwach
A Pennsylvania man was arrested in front of 71-15 Beach Channel Drive in Arverne last Wednesday when he sold drugs in front of officers of the housing bureau staking out the location. Upon his arrest, the man was found to have a loaded .45 caliber automatic pistol tucked away under the seat of his automobile.
The man, Ricky Barnes of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, was spotted by police officers John Nelson and Frank Mannes when he bumped into their unmarked police car. He then reportedly attempted to sell cocaine to a local, unidentified resident.
He was quickly arrested and his car was searched. Among the items vouchered by police were a .45 caliber automatic, a magazine containing eight live hollowpoint bullets, a scale, a box of sandwich bags, three razorblades, gambling receipts and a knife.
Police sources say that many of those items are used in the drug trade.
Barnes was charged with possession of a weapon and with possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.
