A Celebration of Family and Culture

A Celebration of Family and Culture

On August 24, the Rockaway community will converge for what is destined to become one of the greatest events to ever be held in Rockaway. The Multi-Cultural Family Day Festival will feature a significant number of events for both children and adults, some of which will feature sporting activities, games, music and entertainment, and arts and crafts to name a few. There will also be plenty of food and drink for those in attendance. The Daily News, Newsday and Queens Public Television Producers (QPTV), including John Baxter of "The John Baxter Show", are expected to be on hand to cover the festivities. Bayswater State Park, in Far Rockaway, is the site for the event, and all members of the Rockaway community (at the east and west ends) are invited to take part. We applaud the Project for Rockaway Youth in Safety and Education (PRYSE), the Administration for Children’s Services (ACS), the Joseph P. Addabbo Health Center, and the other organizations that are rapidly signing on to the project, for their efforts to bring the entire Rockaway community together for this special event. The event will go a long way in helping to prove that Rockaway is indeed one community.
