Pottery Exhibit Opens

Pottery Exhibit Opens

Creative, distinctive, ceramic designs by Angella Brown will be featured at Pottery by Susan’s Craft Shop opening on August 9. Brown’s work consists mainly of one-of-a-kind decorative pottery with a Caribbean flair, made of stoneware, porcelain and earthenware clay.

Brown was born and raised in Jamaica and began studying pottery in 1987. She has since worked professionally at her craft and has become an expert at creating and using glazes and surface designs. Her work is sought after in Jamaica as well as here in New York.

The exhibition will open August 9, with a reception in the Crafts Shop from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The artists will be present to answer questions. Plans for a poetry reading by local poets is also in the works.

Pottery by Susan Locke, glass by Norma Allende, jewelry by Cecile Kops and Izabella Slobodoff and original watercolor painted cards and accessories by Florence Stiefeld are just some of the works for sale in the Crafts Shop.

Pottery by Susan is located in The Wave building at 88-08 Rockaway Beach Boulevard. Following the opening, the shop will be open Monday through Friday during regular business hours or by appointment.
