More Pressing Problem

More Pressing Problem

Dear Editor;

I read with interest your July 20 front-page article "Catching a Wave of Tickets."  A more dangerous problem appears to exist. If you pass by the area, you'll notice all the illegally parked cars on the south side of Shore Front Parkway (SFP). The situation is ongoing and ignored. No summonses are issued for these offenses. However, your article mentions all the tickets being issued to the surfers. These tickets are issued on the same beach where people surf while these illegally parked cars are overlooked.

This practice is very unfair regardless whether these are "C" summonses or parking summonses. Signs posted along SFP clearly state "No Parking Anytime." The Police Dept. focuses their attention on surfers who do no harm instead of cleaning up SFP, and enforcing the No Parking rule. It's about time the Police Dept. enforced the no parking rule and gave the residents their street back.
