On July 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Rockaway Children's Network, in conjunction with the City of New York Parks and Recreation, sponsored the second annual "Rockaway Family Day Picnic." The festival, held at Bayswater State Park, was billed as a show of unity and love for the community. The event offered free food, music and entertainment, games and many other fun-filled activities for children and adults. Community organizations, business leaders and representatives of elected officials were on hand for the celebration.
