To Die With Dignity

To Die With Dignity

A recent poll was taken in the New York Post, and the results claimed that fifty percent of the public wanted the Twin Towers rebuilt, while the other fifty percent said it was a bad idea. In our view, we feel that replicas of the Towers, or anything else for that matter, should not be built on what has become regarded as sacred ground. Erecting buildings, solely for the purpose of commerce, would be a desecration. Would Mayor Bloomberg, business moguls or other city representatives, want a house or building placed right over the graves of their mother, father, son or daughter? We think not. The Mayor has become a billionaire because of his accomplishments in big business, but with all due respect Mr. Mayor, it would be unconscionable to treat this situation as "business as usual." People deserve to die with dignity, especially those who perished in the wake of September 11. Preserve their memory, and preserve the area that will forever serve as their final resting place.
