I am writing this letter so that all Rockaway residents may know how fortunate we are to have a community service group called Graybeards right here in our own neighborhoods. More ... This is like another world here in Florida, and the Wave helps me to remember the good memories that I have about Rockaway and Broad Channel. I would like to start by saying that I respect the fact that you served in our country's military and taught in our public school for 33 years. These are very noble professions and you should be proud of those accomplishments. More ... I recently moved to Rockaway Park, and am disappointed that the boardwalk rules are not enforced at all. I see people walking their dogs not only on the boardwalk but also on the beach. More ... I have, for many years, been a regular visitor to Fort Tilden, and use the Green Line to get out there. This past Sunday, June 23rd, my friend Jennifer Eaton and I, after waiting one and a half hours for a Green Line bus leaving the peninsula, (and watching several Q35 buses skip our stop at Beach 169th) More ... As life long residents of Rockaway, one of whom is fortunate enough to work in Long Beach, we have the opportunity to drive along Old Rockaway Beach Blvd. several times a week. Lately we find ourselves discussing all the construction going on. What concerns us is the impact all of these new houses will have on our peninsula. More ... |
