A Sense of Safety in Rockaway
     I have been considering living in Nassau and have found more corruption that I have ever believed possible. The police do not come to apprehend auto drivers who back into sidewalk pedestrians and drive away, nor do they want to find a girl who physically attacked a 62-year old woman, threw her into a glass store window and walked away.

Ferry Service to Manhattan (Letter sent to FEMA)
     Funding to establish and maintain ferry service from Rockaway to Manhattan has been requested by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. This ferry service would be an invaluable commuter option for our residents. Increased automotive ownership and less than adequate transportation alternatives have increased congestion. Ensuring security on roads and bridges has contributed to additional delays. An additional transportation option will help relieve congestion.

     I will never forget. I can no longer retain the statistics: how many died, how many tons of debris fell, the times of impact. I can no longer watch the replays of the brokenhearted wives and mothers, the blazing Towers, my city in tears. The images are forever burned onto our souls.
