Dot on Roxbury by Dotty Taphouse
The Annual Parish Show of St. Thomas More's & St. Edmonds was held on Thursday and Friday nights 6/27 & 6/28 in St. Thomas More's Hall. It was an excellent show called "America Heroes." Two-zy and Claire Selleck were the producers and Mary Ellen Barnes was the director. Sister Mary Beata sang the Patriotic songs in great voice. The Breezy Point Pipe & Drum Corp. members representing the Breezy Point, Rockaway Point and Roxbury & Auxiliary Fire Departments were dressed in their uniforms making a very colorful appearance.
A surprise baby shower was given for Rachael and Scott Ecock on June 22nd. The party was given by Rachael's Aunt Claire and sister-in laws (and of course we cannot forget the help of Rachael's sisters and friends). The couple was totally surprised when they pulled up to the shower, which was held at the home of Jodi & Glen Izzo (the future aunt & uncle) and there were at least 100 people standing on the street ready to greet them. The excellent food was catered by Brenman Specialty store on Avenue X in Brooklyn. The beautiful cake was made by Patti Cakes of Roxbury.
The shower was attended by family, friends and the entire Concept Elite Staff. Rachael & Scott received many beautiful gifts.
Come to the Christ Community Rockaway Point Church on July 6 & 7 to see the Artist's in Residence Exhibition. There are many great local talented artists, including my granddaughter Deb Taphouse.
The Bozo Club of Roxbury had a successful card party on Friday night 6/29th in their clubhouse. There were many prizes. The big prizes were won by Cathy Duemig
who won the 50/50 and Peter Frank who won the DVD player.
