The families of Flight 587 victims, most of whom live in Washington Heights, met in the Bronx last week to decry the treatment they are getting from the city. "They only think about the World Trade Center," said one woman who lost both her mother and father in the crash. "We need our community leaders and politicians to get in touch with our needs as well."

Dot on Roxbury by Dotty Taphouse
The Annual Parish Show of St. Thomas More's & St. Edmonds was held on Thursday and Friday nights 6/27 & 6/28 in St. Thomas More's Hall.  It was an excellent show called "America Heroes."  Two-zy and Claire Selleck were the producers and Mary Ellen Barnes was the director.  Sister Mary Beata sang the Patriotic songs in great voice.  The Breezy Point Pipe & Drum Corp. members representing the Breezy Point, Rockaway Point and Roxbury & Auxiliary Fire Departments were dressed in their uniforms making a very colorful appearance.

Independence Day: A Celebration of Freedom
Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.  Our forefathers created a heritage for us that would incorporate these freedoms. The pursuit of happiness implies that we are free to make the choices that make happiness a personal issue. To be happy we must be free.  Free from the restrictions of old belief systems that keep us in patterns that create illness. Free to nurture ourselves in the most appropriate ways that feed our innate creativity and allow us to blossom into our full potential and contribute our gifts to society.  This is what makes a great country.

Notes On Consumer Affairs
Today, at the checkout counter of some stores, there are many choices in which to pay.  A consumer could pay by cash, check, credit or debit card. Many debit cards can also be used as a credit card.  This brings about the question of what, if any, is the difference between a credit and a debit card?
