Shabby Green Bus Service

Shabby Green Bus Service

Dear Editor;

I must tell you of a scene I witnessed on a midweek afternoon at the bus stop in Far Rockaway. Oh yes, it was the #22 Green Bus Line whose route covered one end of Rockaway to the end. It was a blazing day in June. The corner where the bus stopped was crowded with people. Children, restless, were crying. Shoppers with packages looked tired and impatient. An elderly man on crutches lost his balance and fell. He fainted. An ambulance was called, came immediately and the man taken to the hospital for treatment. During this period, three buses passed through carrying signs telling you "this bus is out of service."

The scene was pitiful. The public does not deserve to be treated so shabbily.

This calls for interference and correction by our political representatives. How about it? Or do we have to wait for the next up-and-coming election?
