St. John’s Hospital Trustee Honored

St. John’s Hospital Trustee Honored

Margaret O. Carpenter, President of the Development Board for St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway, was among a group of 37 hospital trustees honored by the United Hospital Fund on May 3 at the Waldorf-Astoria for their leadership, guidance and extraordinary service to New York City’s hospitals.

"The commitment of these trustees to the hospitals they serve makes them a vital force in New York City’s rapidly changing health care system," said James R. Tallon, Jr., President of the United Hospital Fund. "They provide a unique perspective, combining sensitivity to local needs with a concern for quality and fiscal responsibility."

Carpenter, a resident of Lawrence, has been a member of the Board of Managers and a trustee of Episcopal Health Services since 1993. She’s a member of the Community Advisory Board, as well as the executive, finance, nominating and staff committees. An active volunteer in the community, Carpenter is a trustee of the Village of Lawrence, a member of the Board of the Rock Hall Museum, a Senior Warden at Trinity St. John’s Church, and is the vice president of the Stecher & Horowitz Foundation.
