Marie Rose Araneo
Marie Rose Araneo, born in Brooklyn, was a 15-year resident of Rockaway Beach who died on June 13, 2002.
Marie Rose attended St. Camillus Church and spent her life as a homemaker.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Araneo.
She is survived by her sons, Andy, Frank and John Araneo; daughter, Therese Araneo; sisters, Madeline Bosco and Nanay Picinich; brother, Charles Chiusano; and grandchildren, Matthew, John, Jerza, Adam, George and Sophia.
Funeral arrangements were handled under the direction of Denis S. O'Connor, Inc.
Thelma Emily Hartfield

Thelma Emily Hartfield, born in Manhattan, was a 40-year resident of Far Rockaway who passed away on June 16, 2002 at the age of 90.
Thelma spent the majority of her life caring for her home and family.
She is preceded in death by her children; Thelma Hagland, Joyce Varello and Frederick Hartfield; and siblings, Viola, John, Cornelius, Andrew and Madeline.
She is survived by her 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Interment under the direction of the Meserole Funeral Home, Inc. was held at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Pinelawn, Long Island.
Dorothy Lentz (nee Bergen), born in Manhattan, was a long time summer resident of the Murphy/Gray bungalows on Beach 88 Street during the 1960's. She passed away in Flushing, New York, at the Franklin Nursing Home, on May 24, 2002 at the age of 84.
Dorothy was a 35-year employee of the Eugene O'Neill Theatre on Broadway and West 49 Street in New York City. She was also a Sacred Heart Parish Bingo Caller every Friday night for over 40 years, and a member of the parish's Mother's Club well into her 70's.
She is preceded in death by her brothers, John Bergin and Daniel Bergin.
She is survived by her daughters, Barbara King and Audrey Gigliobianco; grandchildren, Gerard King, Kevin King, John King, and Brian King, and Daniel Gigliobianco and Cara Gigliobianco; and sisters, Evelyn McCue, Ruth Mangano and Patricia Criscuola.
Interment under the direction of John J. Barrett. Jr. and Son Funeral
Home was held at Resurrection Cemetery in Staten Island.
Retired Mail Clerk
Arthur Pappas was a life long resident of the Far Rockaway area who died on June 17, 2002 at the age of 79.
Arthur was a retired railway mail clerk and served in the United States Army, in the European Theatre, during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Anna (nee La Shure); daughter, Terry Mayo; sons, Keith and Kevin; and brother, John Pappas.
A special Mass will be held on June 21, 9:30 a.m., at St. Mary's Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church in Far Rockaway.
Interment under the direction of the Meserole Funeral Home, Inc. will be held at Greenfield Cemetery in Hempstead.
