There In Spirit

There In Spirit

Dear Editor;

I was very happy and not surprised to see Rabbi Joseph Weiss and Moe Weinshel pictured at the Veteran's Circle on the pages of the Memorial Day Parade in the Wave.

Moe was very active with our JWV Post 258. He worked very hard with others to successfully renovate the Veteran's Circle. Rabbi Weiss was a member of our Post 258 and said a prayer and spoke at the Circle. As far back as I can remember they were always there.

When Moe was very sick and close to death, he told me how happy he was to be active in fixing up the Veteran's Circle. He hoped he could be at the ceremony on Memorial Day.
As I was leaving Moe I told him that I hoped to see him again. Even though I knew I might not.

He said, "You will see me again, don't worry."

Even though I thought of Rabbi Weiss and Moe Weinschel while I was participating in the ceremony at the Circle, I did not see them. However a week later when I opened the Wave I saw a picture in the paper that would normally not be in the year 2002 layout.

When Moe said, "you will see me again." I should have believed him. Moe was always a man of his word. Moe did it.
