No Graduation This Year

No Graduation This Year

Dear Editor;

I put four kids through P.S. 114 and I am now finding out that my last child will not be getting a graduation.  I am very disappointed and angry that this year the 5th and 6th graders are not getting to finalize their hard work.  I can't understand why this is being taken away from them; this is something that shows their accomplishments and their way of saying good-bye to the friends, teachers and school in which they spent 6 years of their lives.

I remember when my other children graduated from P.S. 114, and how proud we were to see our children walk down the aisle of the auditorium.

I was looking forward after 20 years to see my last child walk down the same isle her two brothers and her sister walked down. I can't believe it was taken away from her and us as parents. I don't know if the other parents feel the same as I do, but I must say I am also disappointed that there was no letter or petition to fight this.  They fought for everything else but I guess it wasn't too important to them as it is to me.  I am ashamed of the principal, who refused a graduation for these children.

Shame on you!
