Hope you all had a Happy Father's Day and that you are ready to be the chef of grilled meats and veggies.

Yes, BarBQ season is here and what have you done to prevent the bugs from being your uninvited guests?

Do I have a wonderful solution for you. It is a brand new product on the market called "Bug Off" from Zelco, the mosquito-repelling BBQ light and it worked like a dream. Some of you may have seen my demonstration of it on my TV segments last week. No more worry about the West Nile Virus. Who needs it? You can bug them off with this vertical light that attaches to your BBQ stand or table. A mosquito-repelling sound emitter drives off the female mosquitoes by imitating the sounds of their natural enemies. You can then dine in peace. It sells for a reasonable and affordable price and will not harm your pets. Zelco puts it out and should be in the stores now. Otherwise find them on the web: www.zelco.com.

The Art Frenzy was something not to be missed. Chamber music, paintings and sculptures on display and performances by African American Dancers, B.Bop, Irish Step Dancers and more. Audrey Pheffer attended. Maryann Mackey, who is leaving for Ireland in a few weeks with her husband Brian and son, Sean gave me the report. She was there to also witness Sean play in the Jr. Major League Softball games at the Fort Tilden Field with the Harbor Optics against Rockaway Little League, Quadrozzi and others. His team won four games that day. Congratulations to Sean and the Harbor Optics team.

Chabad for the Children of Chernoble, honoring Ann O'Meara and Jerry Stiller was a fabulous affair held at Pier 61 , Chelsea Piers that sits right on the Hudson and on a beautiful day you can't beat it. I felt as if I were on a ship. And the food was just as lavish and ample. Son, Ben Stiller, was the Co-Chairman and John Voight gave his support. A large, large venue that was filled with caring people who raised a tremendous amount of money for the children who are still suffering residual effects from the Chernoble explosion. Call and join them in their efforts to save these children and come to the awards dinner next year.

Cartier Flutes were presented to the nominees and to Quest International and to E. Edward Kavanaugh, President of Cosmetic, Toiletry/Fragrance Association for hosting the reception. The Metropolitan Museum of Art is currently featuring a magnificent display of 63 Gauguin 19th, 20th century works of art from water colors, oils, wood carvings, sculptures and prints. He was born in Paris and lived in both Paris and Peru. Traveled all over the world with the Merchant Marines, settled in France where he befriended famed artist Vincent van Gogh. He married a Danish girl and sired five children whom he adored though he barely was ever home. Finally he spent his last days in the South Pacific in Tahiti and other Islands where his exotic paintings emerged. Gauguin was finally recognized as a great painter before his tragic death from syphilis. The Metropolitan Museum is so exquisite. Just go and take in all the beauty of it as well as the art.

You can have a great time just walking around.

Robust and the picture of health was Harold Brady. Who would ever guess he just recovered from a severe heart problem that put him in the hospital. You look fine now, Harold. (No medical mistakes on you) stay healthy and have fun. Next to him at the Snug Harbor bar was Bobby Healey who just returned from California after a stay with his sons. Couldn't stay away from Rockaway. He also has a health problem but seems to be handling it well.
