Iris Agatha Adams
Teacher

Iris Agatha Adams, born in Plaisance, Guyana, was a long time member of the Rockaway community who passed away on May 30, 2002.

Iris was a member of the Brethren Church in Plaisance, Guyana, and was employed as a teacher.

She is survived by her 8 children, Edmund, Sherlock, Jocelyn, Gordon, Douglas, Iris, Peter and Wayne; 14 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two sisters, Beryl and Una Hall; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Interment under the direction of Jeremiah C. Gaffney' Funeral Home, Inc. was held at the Brethren Church Cemetery in Guyana.

Mary Cavaliere
Beloved Mother

Mary (nee Cannet) Cavaliere, was a long time resident of the Rockaway's, Lynbrook, Long Island, and Fort Lauderdale, Florida who died recently.

She is survived by her children, Diane, Fran, Jimmy, Peter and Joan; and her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A Memorial service will be held on June 30 at the Perry Funeral Home, 118 Union Avenue, Lynbrook, from 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hospice of Naples, Inc., 1095 Whippoorwill Lane-Naples, Florida 34105.

Lawrence H. Ford
Maintenance Engineer

Lawrence H. Ford, born in Prince Edward County, Virginia passed away on June 4, 2002.

Lawrence was employed as a maintenance engineer.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby; children, Kimberly, Lawrence, Keith, Wendy, Michelle and Yolanda; two brothers, Walter and Norman; two sisters, Beatrice Brown and Irma Ruth Allen; and a host of other family members and friends.

Interment under the direction of Jeremiah C. Gaffney's Funeral Home, Inc. was held at Pinelawn Cemetery.

Anastasia Herbert
Homemaker

Anastasia Herbert, born in Brooklyn, was a 63-year resident of Breezy Point who died on June 10, 2002.

Anastasia worshipped at St. Edmunds Church and spent most of her life as a homemaker.

She preceded in death by her husband, Joseph.

She is survived by her sons, Robert and Joseph; two grandchildren; one great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home on June 14, from 2-5 p.m. and 7-10 p.m.

Interment under the direction of Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home, Inc. will be held at St. Charles Cemetery on June 15.

Dorothy Lentz
Theatre Employee

Dorothy (nee Bergen) Lentz, born in Manhattan, was a long time summer resident of the Murphy/Gray bungalows on Beach 88 Street during the 1960's. She passed away in Flushing, New York, at the Franklin Nursing Home, on May 24, 2002 at the age of 84.

Dorothy was a 35-year employee of the Eugene O'Neill Theatre on Broadway and West 49 Street in New York City. She was also a Sacred Heart Parish Bingo Caller every Friday night for over 40 years, and a member of the parish's Mother's Club well into her 70's.

She is preceded in death by her brothers, John and Daniel.

She is survived by her daughters, Barbara King and Audrey Gigliobianco; grandchildren, Gerard, Kevin, John, Brian, Daniel and Cara; and sisters, Evelyn, Ruth and Patricia.

Interment under the direction of John J. Barrett. Jr. and Son Funeral

Home was held at Resurrection Cemetery in Staten Island.

Casemera McLetchie
Loved By Many

Casemera McLetchie, born in Arima, Trinidad, West Indies, was a 30-year resident of Rockaway who died on May 26, 2002.

Casemera spent her life as a homemaker, and served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church.

She is survived by her sister, Inez; 10 children, Veronica, Elizabeth, Raphael, Janice, Virginia, Victor, Theresa, Wayne, Gregory and Felix; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Interment under the direction of Jeremiah C. Gaffney's Funeral Home, Inc. was held at Evergreen Crematory in Hillside, New Jersey.

Clayton Staten, Jr.
Sanitation Worker

Clayton Staten, Jr., born in Emporia, Virginia, died on May 25, 2002.

Clayton was employed as a helper with the Department of Sanitation.

He is survived by his wife, Vesta; son, Ralph; brothers, Archie and Edison; sisters, Ethel, Barbara, Patricia, Angela and Brenda; and other family members and friends.

Interment under the direction of Jeremiah C. Gaffney's Funeral Home, Inc. was held at Pinelawn Cemetery.

John Vetter
Aircraft Technician

John Vetter, born in New York City, was a life long resident of Rockaway Park who passed away on June 9, 2002.

John worshipped at St. Genevieves Church, and worked as an aircraft electrical technician for the Grumman Company. John was also a veteran of the United States Navy.

He is survived by his brother, James.

Interment under the direction of Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home, Inc. was held at Pinelawn Memorial Cemetery.
