Dot on Roxbury by Dotty Taphouse

St.Genevieves Church ran their first Friday Luncheon June 8 in Father Hession Hall.  The delicious dinner was catered by Timmy Feimer of the Roxbury Barn II and the excellent cakes were baked by Pati-Cake.

Gateway's Art Frenzy was held on Sat. June 8 and Sunday June 9 in Fort Tilden.  Free material for making hats, etc., entertainment from children in costumes they made themselves, poets, music and much more.  It was a very nice day.

On Sunday, my daughters and some friends wheeled me down to the Rockaway Theater in Gateway National Park to see the comedy "Lend Me A Tenor".  The show was great!! They put a lot of hard work into fixing the theater up with paintings and art work from local talent.  It's even handicapped accessible!!  The shows are only $12 a person & $7 for children and seniors. Much cheaper then Broadway and just as good.  This play will be playing June 14,15,16,21,22.  Next show is the USO, July 5,6,7.  Starting July 19 is The Pajama Game.  For times of play and information about other plays call 718-850-2450.

Now, I'm up to Monday a great trip for shopping in Fortunoff's. Very nice assortments of treasures not found elseware. Also a visit to the Cheese Cake Factory bakery and restaurant.  On the way back to the beach, Trinity Senior Services Inc. (Dr. Geraldine Chapey Chairman) and courtesy of Stella as our lovely leader we stopped at Lenny's Clam Bar to enjoy a tasty dinner.

I missed the Golden Age meeting on Tuesday, I got a time to get picked up by Access-A-Ride but couldn't get a return trip time to go home, so I had to cancel.

You must now make appointments four days before your planned trip and that doesn't always work.

Happy Birthday Chereane Maus June 17.

Love ya!! Dot
