The brand newly refurbished ms Prinsendam, Holland America's newest luxury cruiser renovation, was Christened his past week and I found it to be a very warm and comfortable ship, smaller than the other mega ships, but I like that because it gives you a better chance to meet some of the interesting people on board. There was one couple who have sailed Holland America 59 times, a true Mariner and one of the many invited to tour the Prinsendam and dine for lunch. This vessel is designed for exotic places and if exotic places are what you are looking for, then this is the ship for you. Beautiful, spacious cabins with verandas and tubs and superior service.

At the Waldorf Astoria recently, I attended the Better Chance fundraiser luncheon, an organization that assists children with entrepreneurial skills who cannot afford an education, to live up to their potential. I was so impressed with enormous strides these children have made and the effort they have put into their work. Each and every contributor must be very, very proud of their accomplishments. Oprah contributed ten million dollars to them and the fundraisers five million toward their 1.5 million goal. It is a better investment than the stock market. When you invest in a child you get back so much more in return. Give them a call and maybe next year you will attend A Better Chance Luncheon and see the results of worthwhile giving.

At the Regent Wall St Hotel Henry Bruel received an outstanding award for Distinguished Achievement for his work with Cerebral Palsy, along with other honorary guests. This is another function you should attend. They held a silent and live auction with art pieces, dinners, shows etc on which you could bid. A beautiful evening with a reception and ample, ample buffet.

At the 21 Club Orient Express introduced their new hotels in the Far East, such as in Tahiti and Fiji and others. Each and every hotel is exquisite and exudes elegance.

Germany's Bavaria and Saxony were promoted to the travel agents, and I was amazed at the beauty of these counties and the wonderful and attractive packages being offered with Lufthansa Airlines. Their business class flight is a dream. That is how they sent me to Germany to produce my German show, which is almost completed and will be aired shortly.

Our snowbirds have come home to roost â026.at least for a while. Barbara and Billy Genoese are back from their annual winter hiatus in Acapulco. It is soooo beautiful there, it is a wonder they even come back at all, but then they just can't get the Breezy Point sand out of their shoes. Helen and Peter Danzilo have surfaced after a delightful winter season in Las Vegas where they had a great time. Off they went again to the Sagamore Hotel on Lake George to help daughter, Maria, celebrate her new permanent position as President of the New York Copyright Association..More next week on that.

Sorry to read Leonia Casey Horowitz passed away, a dear friend of my late Aunt Theresa Crowley of Utica Walk. She has been confined to a nursing home for a number of years now. Sorry, too, to find Grace Someck on the sick list in the Church bulletin. Hope she is feeling better now. Kay Salica has been in the hospital and unknown whether she is home yet. Remember them in your prayers.

So delighted a drug program is finally opening in Breezy Point. It has been much needed for many years. A little late in coming, but maybe not to late to save some of the children from a life of devastation.

St. Thomas More Parish Show "American Hero" will be performed on Thursday, June 27 and Friday, June 28 at 8 p.m. Every year it is a smash hit and improves with age Donation is only $8, so don't miss it.

Speaking of Shows, the Rockaway Theater Company opened with another super production, "Lend me a Tenor" (I'll even take a baritone). The talent in this company is unbelievable. You have to see these shows to believe me. I can't wait to get to see them this season. You cannot afford to miss one. The price is right. Only $7 for seniors and children and $12 for all others. We are so lucky to have LIVE theater performances at our doorstep and with such great direction and artistry by all. We have to take advantage of it.

Did you get the long shot at the Belmont Preakness on Saturday? Joe Kilbride and Bob O'Brien were the big Sarava winners. They were so thrilled, especially Bob, who wanted to turn back his number for another, but couldn't. What a surprise! They were both so thrilled they bought drinks and dinner for all in Kennedy's. (HO!HO!HO). Shame you missed it. You should have been there. Cause, how often does that happen?
