Service Changes on "A" and "S" Lines

Service Changes on "A" and "S" Lines

The MTA has announced that there will be temporary service changes that will affect "A" line and Rockaway Park "S" Shuttle service to the Rockaways on the June 1 – 3, 2002 weekend.

The service changes will facilitate station work at the Howard Beach-JFK station as part of the construction of the Port Authority’s Air Train system.

Due to this work, there will be no subway service from the Rockaway Boulevard station to the Rockaways. Special free shuttle buses will provide service between Rockaway Boulevard and the Rockaways; a special shuttle train will operate between the Far Rockaway-Mott Avenue and Beach 116th Street-Rockaway Park stations.

"We understand the inconvenience this work may cause, and appreciate our customers’ patience," noted Lois Tendler, Director of Government and Community Relations for the MTA New York City Transit.

Regular service will be provided to all "A" and Rockaway Park "S" line stations at all other times. For travel information customers should call 718-330-1234.
