Middle School 180 Excels in Attendance

Middle School 180 Excels in Attendance

This year has been a remarkable one for the students of M.S. 180. Not only has attendance improved, the number of students with perfect yearly attendance has risen from 3 students last year to a staggering 19 students this school year. Truly, the combined efforts of parents, teachers, administrators and family workers has impacted positively on our students’ achievements.

As part of the A.I.D.P. Program, under the supervision of Rochelle Youngelman, Facilitator, all students with perfect attendance have received Attendance and Punctuality Certificates each marking period. Additionally, students with perfect monthly attendance and punctuality are given the opportunity to win a T-shirt and special awards in the "Lotto Friday" program. This special program was developed by Assistant Principal Eileen Green to further recognize students with excellent attendance and punctuality.

Our principal, Mr. George Giberti, recognizes the classes with perfect attendance on a daily basis. This daily announcement of classes with perfect attendance, coupled with the distribution of certificates and the monthly "Lotto Friday" winners has served as a model for all students and consistently reinforces the value of attending school regularly.

The "Lotto Friday" winners for April are Tonya Austin, Laquan Bell, Christian Bravo, Ashley Caudra, Christopher Lang, Ronndel Marine, Carlos Pedraza and Linda Waiters.
