The Parking Problem

The Parking Problem

Dear Editor;

I thought the letter last week about "Here We Go Again" was right on track. I also as a resident of Rockaway would like to add something about the parking regulations. As we all know the rents in Rockaway are not inexpensive and yes the homes are beautiful, but to pay these rents we must all work and then return home looking for a parking space for hours.  I fully understand that during the summer months these parking regulations keep our beaches from becoming over crowded and also keeps our area from excessive garbage that can be left behind. One fact is that even some homeowners who have driveways run out of parking space because of multiple cars purchased for other family members. In this case, they need to park in the street.

One other reason our parking regulations needs some type of change is if you were to have some type of party on the weekend during these months you have to ask neighbors to use their parking area because you invited a few guests. I would like to end this with I don't have the answer to this ongoing problem, but I wish our city officials did.
