As a result of last week’s page two story, "Sex Sells…Next To Local Grade School," marketing and promotions officials from Vista Media have pulled the controversial ad, which was a promotion for radio station HOT 97. The billboard on Beach 35 Street and Beach Channel Drive now displays hip-hop star Ja Rule on a motorcycle, as HOT 97 on-air personality, "Sunny", is seated behind him.

While the lines are somewhat blurred as to who is responsible for the direct placement of the ad, the development of the ad, and its theme, was the joint responsibility of Vista Media, HOT 97 and Def Jam Recordings. "We sincerely apologize if we have offended anyone in the community. That was not our intent. We felt that replacing the ad would be in the best interest of the community, and we wasted no time in removing it," said a Vista Media spokesperson.
