Lucius Knight of Arverne was named to Doers and Thinkers honorary society at Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y. Knight is a first year student.

Doers and Thinkers is an honor society for rising sophomores. Each year during Class and Charter Day the outgoing class of Doers and Thinkers selects 13 rising sophomores for the next year’s membership.

Hamilton College is a highly selective residential college offering a rigorous liberal arts curriculum. Students are challenged to think, write and speak critically, creatively and analytically, so that upon graduation they may distinguish themselves in both their professions and their communities.

Kerry Herchenroder from Breezy Point received The John E. King Scholarship at Siena College.

Siena College is a Catholic, co-educational liberal arts college in the Franciscan tradition. The college’s 2,700 undergraduate students choose from 25 majors in liberal arts, science, and business. Siena’s 155-acre campus is located two miles north of Albany.

Some 564 students were awarded scholarships at the college in Loudonville, N.Y. "While each scholarship has its own criteria, most are awarded to students based on demonstrated financial need, academic achievement, and participation in extracurricular activities," noted the Director of Financial Aid Mary Lawyer.
