DMV To Rockaway May 20

Assemblywoman Audrey Pheffer has invited the NY State Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to visit her District Office, located at 90-16 Rockaway Beach Boulevard, Rockaway Beach, to offer her constituents a special opportunity and avoid a trip to DMV.

On Monday, May 20th, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., DMV representatives will be at ASA/Brookdale Senior Center (131 Beach 19th Street, Far Rockaway) to issue non-driver ID cards and refresh photos for updating driver's licenses.

To obtain a non-driver ID card or driver license photo, six (6) points of proof of name, and separate proof of date of birth, must be presented during your visit.

Acceptable methods of proof for date of birth must be original documents, and include: U.S. Birth Certificate, Military Separation Papers, U.S. passport, foreign passport (with INS documentation), immigration documents, photo driver license, permit, non-driver ID. Six points are required for proof of name, which can be comprised of the following documents: NY Medicaid/Benefit/Food Stamp Card with our without Photo = 3 points, U.S. Social Security Card (must have your signature) = 2 points. U.S. Health Insurance, card/Prescription Card = 1 point, Currently Active Major U.S. Credit Card = 1 point, Bank Statement or record = 1 point, Cash Card (ATM) with preprinted name & signature = 1 point Utility Bill (must have your name and address) = 1 point. Applicants 62 years of age or older are eligible for 10-year ID cards at a reduced fee of $4.50. Regardless of age, applicants who receive SSI are also eligible for 10-year ID cards at this reduced fee, providing they provide proof that the applicants receives SSI.

You will receive a temporary non-photo ID card when you apply, and should receive your photo-ID card through the mail within five weeks. No appointment is necessary to take advantage of this time-saving, convenient opportunity.
