Abolish Costly City Council

Abolish Costly City Council

Dear Editor;

Tell me what have the political representatives covering the Rockaway Peninsula done in the past and in the ongoing years to prevent the influx of medical mills, health-related facilities, and low housing city projects??

Our elected officials should have been the vanguard leading the community to protest the use of the Rockaways as a dumping ground!!

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has declared a city budget crisis. There is a tremendous political waste that should be done away with- one mainly, the City Council which according to the media operates on a one-day show job, giving the members exorbitant salaries with benefits and lulus. Each of the five borough presidents should be obliged to handle their choices. Millions of dollars will be saved with this elimination. Mayor Bloomberg has the experience, ability and brainpower to do away with the unnecessary.
