Beth Stray Benefit on April 21

Beth Stray Benefit on April 21

Beth Stray was a woman who lived and loved life to the fullest, but her priority was always to the "kids." Beth spent most of her teaching career as a special-ed teacher in the Rockaways. She was strict and tough with her students, but every one of them knew that she cared about them as individuals.

For over 15 years, in her "spare time," Beth was the Area Coordinator of Brooklyn Special Olympics, where her unique sense of leadership and caring guided that organization to over 1,000 athletes and numerous social and athletic programs that continue today.

On the lighter side, Beth was always ready to go to the beach, take a swim, share a joke, build a snowman, or have a Coors Light at The Wharf. Beth believed in family; she was a loving wife, loyal friend and dedicated teacher, who enriched every life that she touched.

Sadly, Beth lost her battle and passed away on March 21 from a brain tumor.

Please show your support for her family by attending the benefit on Sunday, April 21, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Building T-149 in Gateway’s Fort Tilden. The suggested donation is $20.00. There will be a DJ, food, drink, raffles, and more. All proceeds go to help pay medical expenses.
