Four Parents: Get Over It!

Four Parents: Get Over It!

In response to the "Four Concerned Parents" of last Friday’s letter, you really should have signed yourselves "cowards." Instead of writing that disgusting letter, why didn’t you finally confront the parents you have so much contempt for? Perhaps that would have cleared our school atmosphere of six years of bad air. Instead you chose to backstab the parents who have only tried to protect their children and do the best for them that they possibly can (which incidentally is nothing more than you have done for your own in the past).

You claim there is favoritism, and that they have so much power. Haven’t you selected your teachers in the past? Haven’t you demanded to past principals where your children be placed? Didn’t two of you in fact make sure you selected and placed your teacher this past year? Didn’t two of you just try to move your own children, without success? Isn’t that what this is all about? The parents mentioned in your letter do not have the power you perceive them to have. They were merely successful in doing what was best for their children and you weren’t. It’s all about power – the power you think they have and want - the power they really don’t have at all.

Half of our community was almost annihilated by the plane crash on November 12. A matter of a few feet at the gas station on 129th Street made all the difference in the world. Get over it. Move on already. Go to your house of worship and decide what’s really important.
