Lorraine Selena Colson
Lorraine Selena Colson, born in Jamaica, New York, was a longtime resident of the Rockaway community. She passed away on March 12, 2002 at the age of 39.
Lorriane was employed as a nurse.
She is survived by her daughters, Tiffany and Christine; her son, Terrence; her mother, Sarah; her sister, Mbahlia; and a host of other family members.
Funeral arrangements were held under the direction of Jeremiah C. Gaffney's Funeral Home, Inc.
Loved By Many
Nichole "DeChiaro" Crawford was a resident of Rockaway Beach. She died on March 16, 2002 at the age of 34.
She is survived by her children, Thomas, Amanda, Megan, Christine and Michael; her parents, Ruth Clendenning and Nicholas DeChiaro; her siblings, Gregg DeChiaro, James and Maryellen Stroud, and Cindy Harris. Other relatives include Thomas Hughes and Dawn Stroud.
Interment under the direction of Lawrence Funeral Chapel was held at St. Raymond's Cemetery in the Bronx.
Thomas J. Keenan
Thomas J. Keenan was a resident of the Rockaway community. He passed away on March 18, 2002.
Thomas worked as an attorney and was a past Grand Knight of Flatbush Council #497.
He is survived by his wife Nora T. (nee McNerney); his children Thomas, Joseph, Brian, John, Daniel, Nora McCann, Patrick and James; grandfather of 21 children; his brother Donald.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Francis De Sales Church on March 22, 2002 at 9:45 a.m.
Interment under the direction of Denis S. O' Connor Funeral Home, Inc. will be held at St. John's Cemetery.

James Joseph Kelly
James Joseph Kelly, born in Brooklyn N.Y., was a resident of the Rockaway community. He passed away on March 18, 2002 at the age of 64.
He is survived by his fiancé Beverly Jordan; brother to Anne, Patrick and Kelly; his children Mary Anne, Asci, Jimmy and Peggy; his grandchildren Sean, K.C., Mackenzie, Devan, Killian and Maclan; his extended family, friends and colleagues.
Visitation will take place at Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home on March 22, from 5-8 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis De Sales Church on Saturday, March 23 at 12 p.m.
Interment under the direction of Denis S. O' Connor Funeral Home, Inc. will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery in Brooklyn, New York.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
A memorial service will be held on April 13, 2002 at Innsbrook Country Club. Time of service will be announced at a later date.
Carol A. Knowles
Data Processing Director
Carol A. Knowles, born in Astoria, N.Y., was a 40 year resident of Rockaway Point, coming from Farmingdale. She passed away on March 14, 2002.
Carol was a director of Data Processing, a member of the Roxbury F.D. Ladies Auxiliary, and a member of St. Genevieve's Church.
She is preceded in death by her sister Diane Nygren and her sons Eugene.
She is survived by her husbandDonald; her sons Michael and Donald Jr.; her daughters Mary and Bonnie; her sisters Maureen and Kelly; and six grandchildren.
Interment under the direction of Denis S. O' Connor Funeral Home, Inc. was held at St. Charles Cemetery.
James Edward Leget
James Edward Leget, born in Brooklyn, New York, was a 30 year resident of Rockaway. He passed away on February 18, 2002 at Peninsula General Hospital in Arverne, New York.
James grew up in Queens, New York where he lived with Lawrence and Bonnie Evans. He attended elementary schools and Woodrow Wilson High School. In May 30, 1964 he married Anne Deloris Barnes, and they later had a son, Darryl Kelly Leget.
He worked for over 20 years with the Otis Elevator Company, and later for the New York City Housing Authority as a maintenance engineer. He loved sports, including handball, and he was an avid fan deep-sea fishing.
He is survived by his son, Darryl; his father, Curtis Sr.; his brothers, Curtis Jr. and Vance; his sisters, Alara, Joanie, Theather, Sharon and Diana; his sisters-in-law, Roan and Eula; the Evans family; special friend, Ruth Dunne; and a host of nieces, nephews and grand-nieces.

Ann McDermott, was a resident of the Rockaway community who passed away on March 18, 2002.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph A., and her brother Patrick.
She is survived by her children Theresa, Mary, Joseph and John, Eileen and Patricia; grandmother of 16 children; great-grandmother of 2 children; her sister Peggy and Theresa; aunt to Kenneth and John Patrick; and a host of other cousins.

Bella Monath was a resident of the Rockaway community who died on March 16, 2002.
She was preceded in death by her husband Morris.
She is survived by her children Michael and Susan; and her grandchildren, Jonathan and Matthew.

Devoted Church Member
Lethen Murph, born in St. Matthews, South Carolina, was a longtime member of the Arverne community. She passed away on March 15, 2002.
Lethen was educated in the public school of Calhoun County, South Carolina. She joined the Friendship Baptist Church in St. Matthews, South Carolina at a young age. She married Earthen M. Murph on September 27, 1945, and they later had four children. After migrating to New York, she later joined New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Arverne, New York, where she participated on the Senior Choir and the Pastors' Aide Auxiliary.
She is preceeded in death by her husband, Earthen M. Murph; and her parents, James and Elise Hart Turkvan.
She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Murph, Delphine (Charles) Herd, Arlette McClain and Louellen Murph; her brothers, James Turkvan and Isaac (Billy) Haynes; four sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; 6 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two special friends, Lucy Wooley and Louise High; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Interment under the direction of Lawrence Funeral Chapel was held at Pinelawn Cemetery in Farmingdale, New York.
