Eva M. Gleissner, born in Brooklyn, was a 29 year resident of Rockaway Point who passed away on March 9, 2002.

Eva had attended St. Genevieve Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband John.

She is survived by her daughterd NancyAnn and Marian; her sons Arhtur, Fred, John and Robert; her sister Anna; 14 grandchildren and 1 great grandchildren.

Interment was under the direction of Denis S. O' Connor Funeral Home, Inc.

Sarah Lue Hardie
Loved By Many

Sarah Lue Hardie, born in Edgefield, S.C., lived in the Rockaway area most of her life. She passed away on March 3, 2002 at the age of 89.

Sarah was a Deaconess and member of the First Baptist Church in Far Rockaway.

She is survived by her son, Lee Arthur Key; sisters, Ernestine, Rosetta, Roberta McCain, Mary, Mattie and Viola Keys; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other family members.

Interment under the direction of Jeremiah C. Gaffney's Funeral Home, Inc. was held at Maple Grove Cemetery in Kew Gardens.

Brenda Kitt Kelley
Home Attendant

Brenda Kitt Kelley, born in Junction City, Kansas, was a 35-year resident of the Rockaway community. She passed away on March 4, 2002.

Brenda worshipped at New Hope Baptist Church and was employed as a Home Attendant.

She is survived by her mother, Maryetta Kitt; sisters, Lovie, Josephine, Mary Ann and Kathy; brothers, Alfred, Timothy and David; daughter, Bernadine; and a host of other loving family members and friends.

Funeral arrangements under the direction of Jeremiah C. Gaffney's Funeral Home, Inc. will be held on March 15.

Earlene Footman Lester
Nurse's Aide

Earlene Footman Lester, born in Orangeburg, South Carolina, resided in the Rockaway area most of her life. She died on March 8, 2002 at the age of 59.

Earlene worshipped at the Williams Chapel A.M.E Church, in South Carolina, and was a member of the Steward Board. She was also a member of the Gospel Chorus of Bethel A.M.E. Church in Arverne. She was employed as a Nurse's Aide.

She is survived by her husband, Otis; children, Eddie, James Charles, Rhonda (Andre), Erroll (Nicole) and Renita; step-children, Harvey, Otis Jr., Steven, Wayne, Bruce, Tonya, Carrie and Sharon; siblings, Edward, Robert and Janice; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Interment under the direction of Jeremiah C. Gaffney's Funeral Home, Inc. was held at Frostwood Cemetery.

Clara J. Coleman Logan
Church Mother

Mother Clara J. Coleman Logan, born in Louisa County, Virginia, was a resident of the Rockaway community. She passed away on February 24, 2002 at the age of 92.

Clara was a member of the Mothers Board of her church and was bestowed the title of Church Mother by her pastor.

She is survived by her brother Wallace Coleman; her children Robert, Warren, Bernice, Salome, Hilda, Benjamin, Christine, Ernest, Dorine and Charlene; her godson Gardner; her daughters and sons- in law; her sixteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, adopted children and friends.

Internment under the direction of Isaiah Owens Funeral Service was held at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale, New York.

Tina Louise Padgett
Home Care Attendant

Tina Louise Padgett, born in East Meadow, New York, was a longtime resident of Rockaway who passed away on March 4, 2002 at the age of 36.

Tina worked as a Home Care Attendant.

She is survived by her father Robert Evans; her daughter Natasha; her sister Mona Luisa, Mary Ann and Lorraine; her brothers Anthony, Norman, Arnold, Michael, Robert Lee, Manny and Ira;

Interment under the direction of Jeremiah C. Gaffney's Funeral Home, Inc. was held at Rockville Cemetery.

Vincent J. Ravener
Checker

Vincent J. Ravener, born in Brooklyn, was a resident of Rockaway Point for 25 years. He passed away on March 13, 2002.

Vincent was a checker with the International Longshoreman Association. He was a veteran of the Navy in the Korean War and was a member of the VFW. He attended St. Thomas More Church.

He is survived by his brother Joseph.

Visitation will take place at Denis S. O'Connor Inc Funeral Home on Friday, March 15 from 2-5 p.m. and 7-10 p.m.

Interment under the direction of Denis S. O' Connor Funeral Home, Inc. will be held on March 16, 2002 at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Robert F. Stott
World War II Veteran

Robert F. Stott, born in New Baltimore, New York was a resident of the Rockaway community. He passed away on March 1, 2002.

Robert was a veteran of the Air Force and served during World War II. He attended St. Camillus Church.

He is survived by his wife Anna and her daughters Jane, MaryEllen and Barbara.

Interment was under the direction of Denis S. O' Connor Funeral Home, Inc.
