Let The Feeding Frenzy Begin

Let The Feeding Frenzy Begin

Governor Pataki has finally called for a special election in the wake of the death of Assemblywoman Pauline Rhodd-Cummings. Now that Pataki has tossed out the political "chum", it won't be long before those seeking to fill the vacancy start to swarm in and fight for the prize.  Some are concerned that the sharks will attempt to come from different areas to do battle, such as Laurelton and Rosedale. Others are hopeful that a Great White will emerge from within the Rockaway community and destroy all challengers. Whatever the case, a bloodbath is sure to ensue. Many are stating that they want this seat, and they intend to fight hard to get it. It's four weeks and counting, starting today. Potential candidates are going to pull out all the stops to win. Some serious wheeling and dealing will be going on as the Democratic machine tries to place their key person in the race. The political waters will be forcibly split as candidates thrash about. The waters will calm on the evening of April 16. Hopefully, the victor will be the Great White that has always remained within the waters of Rockaway.
