Doo Wop Concert On April 20

Harry G’s Doo Wop Spectaculars is proud to present "A Salute to the Brooklyn Paramount/Fox/Alan Freed Concert Era" – Volume II, on Saturday, April 20, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. It will be held at Beach Channel High School, 100-000 Beach Channel Drive, Rockaway Park, NY.

The concert, hosted by "Duke of Doo Wop" Harry G., includes legendary groups of the 1950’s and 1960’s performing their hits. Most of the Doo Wop groups were New York City based in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s. They attended New York City schools when they launched their singing careers.

The tentative line-up (subject to change without notice) includes Charlie Thomas’ Drifters ("Under the Boardwalk"), Herb Cox & The Cleftones ("Heart & Soul"), Lenny Cocco & The Chimes ("I’m In The Mood For Love"), Bobbettes, Del Vikings, Fireflies, Joe Villa, Johnny & Joe, Yesterday’s Dream and Streetheart (offering a tribute to the girl groups of the era).

The cost for Gold Seats (Orchestra) is $35.00, and Reserved Seating is $30.00. A part of the proceeds benefits The Susan G. Memorial Scholarship Fund.
